Global Online Google Map for facilitators

Body

There are now several hundred Virtues Project Facilitators around the world
(and growing), and maintaining contact info and addresses via one-on-one
communication is challenging and time-consuming. One of the top priorities
for the Virtues Project is to create a centralized, automated site where
facilitators can manage their own information online.

So you'll be able to register online with your contact and location
information, and then you'll automatically show up on the global map. If
you move or need to change your contact info, you'll be able to log in and
do so yourself.

To prepare for the project, it seemed like a good idea to ask Facilitators
and Master Facilitators to send in their contact info and lists of people
they had trained. But I quickly realized that it would be far more
efficient simply to let people log in and update the info themselves when
the map is first published.

I'm aiming to get this map page and facilitator registration page
constructed and published by the end of February at the latest.

In the meantime, if you or any facilitators you know would like to get your
information into the database pre-emptively, we are using the web shop (
www.virtuesshop.com) as an interim place to collect the information. If you
register there, I'll have your details to pre-populate the map. And you'll
be able to log into the shop to maintain the information yourself in the
meantime.

Also, having everyone in the shop database allows me to check your names
against the facilitator list (spreadsheet) automatically (in seconds) rather
than manually.

Quite a few facilitators and master facilitators have registered at the shop
already, but they are a small fraction of the list we have. I'm hoping that
once the map is up and we advertise it, everyone will register an account
(or register on behalf of those who can't) and enter their email and address
in order to make the map complete.
